Pixel Game Lab is a proprietary game design toolset owned by Game Design Academy® and used in selected elementary school programs in the United States.
Game Design Academy® is an education company that teaches young students how to design games, create characters, build stories, and think like game designers.
We teach kids in our creative lab locations and also inside elementary schools as special enrichment programs. Our classes focus on creativity, storytelling, digital art, animation, problem-solving, and game design thinking.
Pixel Game Lab was originally created for our own curriculum. It helped us give students a structured, creative, and kid-friendly way to design their own games without needing to code. After seeing how well students responded to the program, we decided to make Pixel Game Lab available to everyone.
At Game Design Academy, kids do not just play games, they learn how games are made. Students start with their own ideas. They create characters, design worlds, build levels, write stories, test their games, improve their work, and share finished projects.

Now, the same toolset we use with our students is available for kids, parents, teachers, and schools everywhere. Families can use Pixel Game Lab at home. Schools can use it as part of enrichment, technology, digital arts, or game design programs.
